Aparentemente el 6 de enero se considera cumpleaños de Sherlock Holmes.

Nunca he leído una historia del gran detective. Soy gran fan de Gregory House (que al fin de cuentas es un homenaje nada velado), y me he aficionado bastante a Elementary... aún estoy por ver la serie de Benedict Cumberbatch. En fin... me gusta la idea de la mente lógica y superior. Está en la eterna serie de lectura.

It seems January 6th is considered Sherlock Holmes' birthday.

I've never read one of the great detective's stories. I'm a big fan of Gregory House (whom, at the end of the day is a thinly-veiled homage), and I'm quite fond of Elementary... I've yet to watch Benedict Cumberbatch's series. Oh, well... I like the idea of the logical and superior mind. It's in my perennial to-read list.

He estado desempolvando todas las ideas que por alguna razón (que creo que todas ellas se resumen en falta de tiempo / enfoque / vida real) he ido dejando en el cajón. Algunas resisten el paso del tiempo mejor que otras... alguna de ellas va a funcionar.

Puro lápiz esta vez. Es algo zen.

This is the year we're back on the creative saddle.

I've been dusting off all those ideas that, for some reason or another (that mostly add up to lack of time / focus / life got in the way ) I've left on the cupboard. Some hold up better than others... at least one of them will work out.

So it is.

Just pencil this time. It's a Zen thing.

En ocasiones sigo el tema de Sketch Dailies en twitter... cuando me inspira, claro. El tema de hoy fue un Kappa, que es una criatrua mítica japonesa, como tortuga humanoide, con un hueco en la cabeza llena de agua. Se come a la gente de una manera desagradable, pero uno puede defenderse haciéndole una reverencia, que cuando responde, provoca que tire su agua y pierda sus poderes. O aventándole un pepino con el nombre propio grabado. Y esas cosas no pueden inventarse.

Sometimes I follow the theme of Sketch Dailies on twitter, when it inspires me, of course. Today's was Kappa, which is a mythical japanese creature, sort of a humanoid turtle, with a hole on its head full of water. It feeds on people in a VERY disgusting way, but one can defend against it by making a reverence, which it returns, and that causes its water to spill, and its powers to turn off. Or by throwing to it a cucumber with one's name carved on it. Those things can't be made up.

So it is.

Varios propósitos están coincidiendo para este año... y aparentemente va a haber más retos de los que pensábamos al principio. (Bueno... más bien ahora tenemos fechas). Así que, para empezar, trataremos de retomar el sentido del blog. Porque lo importante es el camino.

Well, now we're writing.

Several resolutions are coalescing for this year, and it seems there will be more challenges than those we expected initially. (Well...more like we have actual dates now). So, for starters, we'll try to re-take the purpose of the blog. Because what's important is the road travelled.
